The More I Write, the Less People Read

Quick post today.

I have noticed something interesting since I have been back writing the Blog. The more I post and write, the lower the subscriber list goes!

It made me think about how we all react to availability.

Question: What is generally the best Rated Episodes of a TV series...Answer: The Premiere and the Finale! It is probably the reason people used to really like mini-series!

Not that I will stop posting just to get my numbers up, but it was just an interesting observation (at least to me!).

I check in pretty regularly.
I know with Dillon moving out of state this week - we have been really busy closing up his apartment, etc.
Do you think people are maybe finishing up vacations, preparing for the fall semester, etc. ???
Summer is slipping away ... and their probably trying to get in all their summer activities before it's gone!

When I decided to come back to blogging, I also decided not to worry about the numbers.
We all kind of want to be immediate, blogging rock stars ...
But in reality, it takes time!
Remember, "If you build it, they will come!"

Interesting. I observed something vaguely along those lines. When I missed just a couple of days, it seemed like readership dropped drastically. Even though I then wrote a lot of new copy (some of it blindingly brilliant, o'course, or maybe just blinding), readership stayed down for several weeks. But then, weirdly, it rose.

I couldn't see any reason why that would happen -- far as I could tell, no special mentions anywhere, no individual posts with large numbers of hits. Strange stuff, isn't it?

First off I am NOT admonishing anyone for not reading my monkey scratchin's! I am happy that anyone vists...It was just interest that as I wrote, the numbers of subscribers dropped...

@ Sharon - No need unless you want to! I appreciate ALL the comments you do make though! Thanks!

@Dawn - As above, just glad you visit. Real Life is well more important, but I am looking forward to hearing more about Dillion's adventure! Put some of his work up too!

@ Funny - Yep...It does ties to other sites I have seen as well...One site that I read is updated pretty sparcely but readership is 4x mine...No big deal just an observation!

Thank you for visiting!
